Ben and Jerry’s host outdoor Ice-screenings

Fun-loving ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s, has teamed up with experiential agency N20 to launch a pedal-powered, ice cream fuelled summer film festival in Clapham Common, London this July.

The three day film festival, The Big Ice Screening, kicks off on 31st July and will see a total of eight films screened. Entertainment at the festival will be powered by environmentally friendly hybrid power technology, including special bikes connected to a generator to power the big screen.

Ice cream and film lovers alike will be treated by day and night to a range of alfresco films to cater for every taste, with classics including Ghostbusters, Dirty Dancing, Little Miss Sunshine and Anchorman all set to feature.

In between films and pedal spinning, fans will be able to learn more about Ben & Jerry’s Save Our Swirled campaign for climate justice, which calls on leaders of developed nations and the United Nations to tackle climate change at the November U.N summit in Paris.

The Ben & Jerry’s herd will be on-hand with ice cream supplies throughout the three days, providing festival-goers with free scoops of euphoric Fairtrade ice cream to enjoy at each screening.

Fans who aren’t lucky enough to bag a ticket need not despair as it is free to visit the festival and enjoy the entertainment, games zones, ice cream scoops, and visit the pop-up food stalls from values-led vendors that surround the big screen.

Alessandra Salvo, brand manager for Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, said: “Ben & Jerry’s and films go together like cookie pieces and ice cream, and we can’t wait to bring fun, ice cream, films and hybrid bikes to Clapham Common for our Big Ice Screening film festival. Whether you are a film buff, an ice cream lover, a cycling fanatic or a fan of ‘Giant Jenga’, there is something for you.

“We are, and always have been, a values-led business and the Big Ice Screening is a great opportunity for us to combine free scoops and films with a serious message around climate change.”

Tickets for the Big Ice Screening cost £10 which includes entry, film viewing, a Ben & Jerry’s gift and unlimited* scoops of Ben & Jerry’s new Fairtrade Cookie Core range. Fans without tickets can still visit the festival to enjoy the entertainment and games zones, ice cream scoops, and pop-up food stalls.
