Circle Agency and PlayStation excite at EGX 2015

PlayStation enlisted Circle Agency to activate its stand at this year’s EGX, NEC Birmingham 24th- 27th September 2015.

Currently in its 7th year, EGX gives gaming fans the chance to play the biggest consoles, get a first look at pre-released games and watch presentations by world renowned game designers. Fans also have the opportunity to take part in tournaments and watch pro-battles as some of the biggest names in gaming go head to head.

PlayStation had one of the largest and most central stand spaces on the show floor, which was the perfect platform to showcase its latest products to the European gaming market, and Circle Agency was entrusted to make this event as memorable as possible.

Circle Agency created a fully immersive experience for the gamers to give attendees plenty of opportunities to experience the latest titles available on PS4. The resulting 1650m² stand and 122 different demo points, featured gaming stations including PlayStation.VR, VIP experience areas, demos, gaming battles and a GAME retail stand where guests could pre-order games on site. This year Sony had the first consumer trial to the UK of its PlayStation.VR headset on the stand, bringing the next generation of virtual reality gaming to EGX gamers.

This year, the PlayStation experience featured third party stands from Star Wars Battlefront, Destiny Taken King, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and Guitar Hero, where gamers could test their skills against some of this year’s biggest games.

Claire Stokes, MD and founder at Circle Agency explained: “This is the second year that Circle Agency has worked with PlayStation at EGX, building on a great event last year. Gamers have such vast knowledge of the games and consoles that it’s important we created the most engaging stand possible to excite visitors, including the option to take part in competitions and challenge other gamers.

“Sony chose EGX 2015 to showcase its PlayStation.VR headset, which is expected to launch next year. This was hugely exciting for everyone involved and we’re proud they chose this event to reveal the next generation of virtual reality experiences to the fans at EGX. This is such a brilliant event to be part of and we’ve loved working alongside PlayStation® to bring our knowledge and experience of technology into practice.”

This year marked the UK’s 20th Anniversary of the first sale of a PlayStation console which took place on 29th September 1995.

Online amplification included photo mechanics which placed fans directly into the games and gaming props that fans could be photographed with, which offered increased exposure for the PlayStation brand across social channels.
