Event industry netwalks across London

Over 60 event professionals representing all parts of the event industry took to London’s parks and streets on Friday 12th June to walk, talk, network and raise money to fight pancreatic cancer.

Setting off from Chelsea FC and taking in 10 miles through Brompton Cemetery, Hyde Park, Regents Park, Regents Canal to arrive at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, the walkers were waved off by Chelsea mascots Stamford & Bridget and welcomed to at Emirates by Arsenal mascot Gunnersaurus Rex.

Howard’s Way Walk was created in memory of event professional Howard Kerr after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. This year’s walk takes on a new poignancy after the tragic passing of Jim Harding, Head of Premium Sales and Hospitality at Arsenal Football Club, from the same disease. The walkers from event companies including Circle Agency, RPM, Gallowglass, Exposure Communications, Mayridge, Arsenal, Lords Cricket Club, West Ham, Blondefish and  PRG.

The walkers’ endeavours have raised more than £17k to support Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Head of Events at Arsenal, Carlo Zoccali, said, “An amazing walk through London, with an amazing group of people raising money for a great cause.”

Gallowglass Group MD, Nick Grecian, commented, “This was the first Howards Way Walk in a city. When event industry people collaborate anything is possible. I’m already looking forward to next year.
