Hive Active Heating connects with Carat

British Gas is reaching out to thousands of Britons planning to make home alterations and improve heating efficiency, with an innovative experiential stand devised to showcase the benefits of its groundbreaking remote home heating technology, Hive Active Heating.

Created by Carat Sponsorship, ‘Experience Hive, by British Gas’ is a unique installation fitted out with interactive screens and a Hive Active Heating demo app, which enables consumers to control domestic heating and hot water systems via mobile or online. The innovative brand experience will tour the biggest home shows and other locations in the UK until Spring next year and is designed to help consumers understand what Hive Active Heating is, how it works, and how easy it is to use.

It is hoped the campaign will boost consumer interest in the service and technology which comes at a relatively low retail price of £199 and the estimated energy annual cost savings of £150.

Within the stand itself; a six-pod station houses a display screen and a demo version of the app on a smartphone, which is used to control the screen. Visitors can interact with the screen via two modes: ‘Experience Hive’, which allows visitors to use the Hive Active Heating app to control heating and hot water in the virtual home, and ‘Watch Film Clip’, which runs a brand video demonstrating how the app can help consumers manage their energy use an benefit from greater control over their heating. Visitors who engage with the experience will be entered into a free prize draw to win an iPad Mini and Hive Active Heating

‘Hive Experience’ has already received over 1,300 visitors following its debut at the National Home Improvement Show in London last week.
