The Hub arrives to help event and experience industry recruitment hires

A new recruitment platform that aims to revolutionise the way in which the MICE, events and experience industries finds talent has gone live. ‘The Hub’ is the first ever SaaS recruitment platform dedicated to the whole of the events industry. The platform has been created to connect employers and recruiters to active and pre-qualified candidates; it offers a simplified and streamlined way for companies to find talent and for people to find work.

Candidates upload their CVs for free enabling employers and recruiters to define their searches, scan pre-qualified CVs, compile shortlists and download their selected CVs. Companies can also create job vacancy adverts, with suitable candidates receiving notifications when relevant vacancies are posted. The site caters for both freelance and permanent roles.

Robert Kenward, founder and chief cheerleader of The Hub says: “2021 is the year in which we as an industry start to rebuild and we will see the largest and fastest growth spurt ever experienced. Recruitment will be at the forefront of this growth, however a new beginning needs a new approach. The Hub will revolutionise recruitment by connecting employers and recruiters to pre-qualified, industry relevant candidates, making it easier and faster for employers to access the huge pool of talent that our industry has available. As an added benefit, a unique monthly ‘Pulse’ check will ensure the talent pool is kept fresh and only candidates still looking for work are listed.

“We are proud to be working with a number of prestigious community partners who are at the forefront of our industry, and who are dedicated to improving the lives of those in the sectors we serve. We have also committed to support their chosen charities ensuring that as well as helping people find work, we can support those who have other needs too. The world has changed, it’s time recruitment did too.”

The Hub’s community partners include: mia, ILEA, MPI UK and Ireland, HBAA, IMEX Group, Fast Forward 15, Diversity Ally and EventWell.

Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the Meetings Industry Association (mia) says: “As the mia has always championed and celebrated talent within the business meetings and events sector, we are delighted to become a community partner of The Hub. With its fresh approach to recruitment, it is likely to be of great benefit to our members, who will be able to take advantage from preferential rates when posting vacancies and searching the sector-specific website for candidates.”

Gabby Austen-Browne, co-founder of Diversity Ally says: “Diversity and inclusion will soon become part of the fabric of our fantastic community. Recruitment and the talent pipeline is a part of the puzzle towards a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce, which can only benefit our industry.  We are excited to see a recruitment hub ahead of the curve and keen to support this, which is why Diversity Ally is delighted to be community partners of The Hub.”
