Jaguar gets set to gauge the mood and emotion of Wimbledon

British luxury brand, Jaguar, used ground-breaking innovation to create a multi-sensory ‘VIP Purple Carpet’ at the WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party on Thursday 25 June.

Jaguar, the Official Car of the WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party, for the first time, captured the crowd reactions to meeting global stars of women’s tennis from the new WTA fan zone on a bio-reactive screen, as they made their way down a unique ‘purple carpet,’ at Kensington Roof Gardens.

Heather Watson, British ladies number one, said: “I’m very excited about next week – I absolutely love playing at Wimbledon. There’s no tournament like it. I am always a bit nervous and get the butterflies as soon as I walk out on court for the first time. There’s nowhere else in the world where the crowd support is so passionate and it can make such a difference.

“Walking the carpet with one of the girls from the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis, and being able to see how the fans reacted to the WTA’s new fan zone from the bioreactive screen was a fun experience. I can’t wait for Wimbledon.”

Measurements captured from Jaguar’s bio-reactive carpet illustrated that WTA stars and VIP guests created a big fan reaction as they posed for photographs and talked up their chances ahead of Wimbledon.

A combination of bioreactive, motion capture and ambient audio sensors were placed at key locations along the purple carpet, including inside the new fan zone, press area and near the VIP step and repeat board, to capture data.

Jaguar’s multi-sensory purple carpet experience provided guests with a first glimpse of its #FeelWimbledon campaign, where it will attempt a ‘world first’ by becoming the first brand to capture and visualise the mood and emotions of Wimbledon. Jaguar, celebrating its 80th anniversary and first year as The Official Car of The Championships, Wimbledon, provided a fleet of luxury chauffeur vehicles for VIP WTA Pre-Wimbledon Party guests and influencers. This included its latest sports saloon, the new Jaguar XE, which is on sale at Jaguar retailers and being delivered to its first customers across the UK.

The Championships, Wimbledon 2015 runs from 29 June to 12 July 2015.
