Kate Spade New York creates towering presents in Waterloo

Kate Spade Christmas Tree 2023 at Waterloo Station (2)To celebrate the holiday season, Kate Spade New York has unveiled  a show-stopping, 10-metre tree made of branded gift-boxes located in London’s Waterloo Station.

Positioned at the heart of one of the city’s most prominent locations, the immersive experience invites London to spread joy, welcoming one and all to celebrate the holiday season. The sculpture marks the first fashion brand to display a holiday tree at the landmark location.

The grand structure has been crafted using giant gift-wrapped boxes in kate spade new york green, reminiscent of a traditional tree whilst incorporating joyful, seasonal brand accents, like spots and stripes, throughout. The spectacle will be brought to life with animations including a working model train set journeying around the tree across different levels, coupled with a spectacular light display which will illuminate every hour.
Open to the public from December 1 through to January 6, the kate spade new york holiday tree is designed to surprise and delight commuters during the holiday season, injecting moments of unexpected joy into their busy days. Whether rushing to and from work or heading for an adventure with friends – the tree invites a moment of pause, bringing together communities to reign in the festive season and serve as a reminder that the best gifts aren’t always found under the tree.

During the launch, guests in Waterloo Station were treated to a surprise performance from ‘Some Voices’ Choir, who congregated to perform much-loved classics and traditional carols.

Commuters will also have the opportunity to win a series of gifts – brand ambassadors will be gifting members of the public at sporadic intervals, with the opportunity to win branded prizes ranging from in-store discounts to handbags.

The holiday tree will be erected in Waterloo Station from Friday 1st December – Saturday 6th January. Join the conversation @KateSpadeNY, #katespadeny
