The Largest Lego Ship in the World with DFDS

dfds-lego-ship604714Independent Events provided nautical promotional staff at Blyth’s Tall Ships Regatta on the first weekend of September to promote DFDS’ discounted Amsterdam cruise offers alongside the largest Lego ship on the planet.

The team were stationed at the DFDS stand throughout the event, providing information on the Lego ship as well as promoting DFDS’ fantastic cruise discounts. Promotional leaflets were distributed and staff used their own brand knowledge to encourage people to take advantage of the DFDS Amsterdam cruise and break offers.

The Lego ship, “Jubilee Seaways”, has been confirmed as the biggest on the planet by the Guinness World Records and was created to mark the 150 year celebration of DFDS.  The construction measures in at 12.35m long, weighs 2,860kg and was created by 7000 people across 20 different countries plus a dedicated team of professional Lego builders and Lego fans, using a total of 1 million pieces.

The activation was linked to a DFDS digital campaign which featured a competition, with visitors encouraged to take photos and selfies with the Lego ship using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the #WordsBiggestLEGOShip hashtag.  Crowd handling was a big part of the day for the staff, with thousands of visitors flocking to the stand to gaze at the futuristic designed Lego ship.
