Lola and Uber connect in London for ice cool consumer intros

Uber, the rapidly expanding start-up company that connects riders to nearby drivers across the globe, gave away ice cream in 144 cities from 38 countries as a part of the worldwide stunt last Friday.

Uber put Lola Staffing in the driving seat of its promotional activity in London, which involved a very large number of staff serving cold treats all across the city.

Lola staff, equipped with smartphones, embarked upon a vast number of traditional ice cream vans and delivered tonnes of ice cream to Londoners who enjoyed the hottest day of the year so far. Ice Cream could be ordered only via the Uber app. The stunt encouraged many people to try Uber for the first time and Lola staff were on hand to show new customers how to sign up.

‘Lola Staffing were very happy to be part of such an exciting PR stunt and the #UberIceCream worldwide community.’ – says Lola’s sales director Diana Sanni.

‘We are very grateful for the hard working staff associated to Lola, they really helped to make the day a success’ – says Rebecca Evans – London marketing manager at Uber.
