MCI Group, the global leader in full congress management (PCO), meetings, events and association management and consulting (AM&C) is proud to announce the expansion of its service offering in Italy. The group has an active presence in the country through Ovation Global DMC, with an office in Rome, and will focus on offering national and regional conferences and congresses to its clients from a new office in Florence.
For spearheading the new PCO service offering, the company has appointed Luigi Cammi and Maria Cristina Schiavone, two industry veterans with years of experience in the associations market. With MCI continuing its international growth strategy, Italy becomes the next strategic step for expanding its PCO business in the European region. The addition of these two very capable team leaders who will operate from a new office in Florence, will now enable MCI Italy to deliver optimal revenue generation strategies that our best-in-market association clients expect.
Michael Libotte, managing director, MCI Italy commented: “The expansion of MCI’s service offering in Italy has been on top of our priority list. We have identified a strong alignment of our core brand values with Luigi and Maria Cristina and for this reason, the synergy came into existence. The opening of a PCO office in Florence is viewed as a natural fit as we recognise Luigi’s and Maria Cristina’s commitment and experience in this demanding market. A shared belief in the power of relationships and putting the customer at the centre of everything we do is embedded in our business culture and we look forward to add more value to our existing and new partnerships by joining our forces.”
Luigi Cammi, now operating as MCI Italy’s director of association relationships, brings 18 years of experience to the table with a specialisation in association management and strategic focus on the healthcare industry. Through his spells at different local agencies, he has supported associations, patient communities, companies as well as regional and national institutions to achieve their goals: “I am so excited and thrilled to have joined the MCI family and can’t wait to bring added value to the local healthcare community and help spreading MCI’s vision in many other fields.”
Additionally, Maria Cristina Schiavone, with her 15-year experience in organising national and international congresses and events, is renowned for her attention to the clients’ needs and has a strong record in ensuring all quality standards are met. Before joining the PCO world, Maria Cristina has worked several years in the fashion industry as a Marketing and Logistic Manager for international luxury brands. Cristina is ICCA Italian Chapter Vice-President since 2011 and will now hold the role of Senior PCO Project Manager at MCI Italy. According to her “our new office in Florence will help us strengthen MCI’s leading position in the associations market by offering our full PCO range of services in Italy.”
MCI is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and boasts a true global presence. Celebrating over 30 years in the business, it now has 62 owned offices in 31 countries and counts 10 international partnerships.
