Michael Wyrley-Birch takes up EMEA reins at TRO

TRO, one of the UK’s leading experiential event marketing agencies has announced that Michael Wyrley-Birch has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer for the EMEA Region, following European growth in 2013 and further expected expansion in 2014. Michael will continue his responsibilities as managing director for TRO UK.

Michael has worked for TRO for over 15 years, becoming managing director in December 2011. This new role will allow TRO to focus on growing its European and global network in 2014, following international expansion in 2013, in Singapore and New Delhi.

Michael will remain responsible for TRO UK, adding TRO EMEA offices in Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Paris to his remit.

The agency is proud to boast a number of awards over the last twelve months, thanks to Michael’s leadership; including FMBE Brand Experience Agency of the Year in 2013 and FMBE Award for Agency Leadership in 2012.

Under Michael’s guidance, TRO EMEA is expanding and delivering activities for various clients in Germany, Norway, Italy, Netherlands, Russia and France.

Keith O’Loughlin, global chief executive officer commented: “TRO has enjoyed an impressive level of growth over the last 5 years, in difficult economic conditions and we are now ready to move to the next phase of our exciting journey. With Michael at the helm we will continue to deliver world-class, innovative campaigns and events for our global clients, while expanding into new countries and regions.”

Michael Wyrley-Birch said: “It is an exciting time for the agency and 2013 has been an excellent year with growth from within our existing client base, new clients as well as across territories. While the digital landscape and Google searches remove geographical barriers we’ve seen brands begin to restructure their marketing activities into regions rather than countries and TRO is responding to these client needs by extending its presence around the world.”
