Mobile Technik helps UK Airport Safety Week take off

Mobile Technik_ Heathrow Team[269642]Mobile Technik, was entrusted by the Airside Safety Group to take a national UK Airport Safety Week campaign direct to Heathrow Airport’s airside employees during this week-long mobile exhibition.

The Heathrow airside safety roadshow took place over five days across four terminals and cargo centres, encouraging all employees and partners across the whole of Heathrow Airport to take part, from senior management to shop floor colleagues. The exhibitors, ranging across a number of industries, were on hand to promote health and safety best practices, demonstrate safety departmental cohesion plus raise awareness of personal safety, culture and reporting, and operational standards. Renowned external exhibitors included British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, DHL, Balfour Beatty, Swissport, Gate Gourmet and Worldwide Flight Services.

Mobile Technik supplied its R20 exhibition trailer, specifically requested due to its expansive 70m² internal space, to bring together key players from Heathrow Airport with a joint learning objective of ‘Bringing Safety To The People’. The state-of-the-art mobile trailer provided space for 12 rotating exhibitors throughout the week, each with their own display board to showcase departmental activity and sector developments. Utilising its in-house expertise, Mobile Technik also created the campaign branding and graphic messages on the sides of the exhibition trailer, as well as the additional roof panels to attract additional footfall with the event’s ‘open door’ attendance policy.

Dwayne Black, Ramp Assurance Officer at Airside Operations, explained: “In previous years the event had been held centrally in a static venue, due to previous feedback we sought an alternative solution that opened up this year’s event accessibility to more of our colleagues. The flexibility of Mobile Technik’s expandable exhibition trailer allowed us to be positioned in the best locations around Heathrow Airport, serving each terminal community in such a way that if they did not see the campaign, they’d see the trailers’ eye-catching branding and head in, dramatically increasing footfall this year with us welcoming over 2,000 attendees.”

Mobile Technik’s Nigel Callf adds: “It was a privilege to be part of an event of this nature, due to the level of planning required to safely deliver a mobile roadshow of this scale, in a prominent environment with heightened security procedures. The logistics of moving a 38 tonne exhibition trailer between the flight patterns of the UK’s busiest airport is no mean feat, travelling down live airway runways and taxing zones due to the vehicles’ size preventing access to the terminals via public roads – the trailer was thoroughly searched prior to the event and escorted daily by airside security via live airfields to each terminal. Our exhibition trailer supported the London venue of this national campaign in raising brand awareness through increased footfall and we look forward to helping expand the scope of this event next year.”
