intu, owner of many of UK’s largest and most popular retail destinations, has curated an urban dining experience at intu Victoria Centre in Nottingham, showcasing the city’s best independent food traders.
Catering for customers hungry for food experience, intu earlier this year launched a new concept focused on local dining in the heart of Nottingham. Working with local business operator, Nottingham Street Food Club, the first independent indoor street food market was brought to the city. Shoppers are able to choose from a range of dining options, including Homeboys, an Asian street food business run by former MasterChef contestant, Pete Hewitt.
Following the success of the Nottingham Street Food Club, the venture has now been extended with the opening of the Nottingham Coffee Club in an adjacent unit. Featuring the best of the city’s bakery and coffee operators, it will further broaden the appeal of the centre which has been transformed over the last three years.
Martin Breeden, development director for intu, said: “There’s a growing desire for locally sourced, locally run food outlets. We’re creating this experience in the heart of Nottingham at intu Victoria Centre which is an exciting place to be, bringing people from further and for longer, helping all our tenants to flourish.”
Nathaniel Wilson, operator of Nottingham Street Food Club and Coffee Club, said: “We have great local talent in Nottingham and intu Victoria Centre is the perfect place for us to showcase what we can do for a large audience. We’re supporting some amazing independent traders and this gives them the perfect platform to expand what they are already doing so well.”
