Old Speckled Hen goes on a pop up tour

Old Speckled Hen, the leading premium ale brand in the UK, is set to kick off the Easter festivities early, rewarding its loyal fans and intriguing the nation with the launch of an exciting new ‘Hunt for a Hen’ campaign.

The new Hunt for a Hen travelling bar is a fully functioning bar which pitched up at three secret locations in the UK throughout March (Bury St Edmunds at the Nutshell, Birmingham’s Bullring and Manchester’s Urban Food Fest) before reaching its final secret destination in London over the Easter weekend, with clues to its location posted on social media throughout.  Real ale fans who found the bar were rewarded with a free half pint of Old Speckled Hen in exchange for a social media post using the dedicated #huntforahen hashtag.

Destination clues throughout the campaign period were shared by the brand’s biggest fan, Old Speckled Henry, on Twitter (@SpeckledHenry) and the Old Speckled Hen Facebook page. And he’s keeping fans and followers guessing right up to the long Easter weekend, with thousands responding to his clues to the London destination.

A high impact on-pack promotion will also run in conjunction with the campaign across select Old Speckled Hen pint, 500ml and multipack retail formats, offering customers the chance to win up to £1,000 in cash and thousands of prizes drawn weekly from 7 March to 13 April 2015.

Old Speckled Hen launched in 1979 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of British car factory MG, since then Old Speckled Hen has grown into the UK’s number one premium ale brand with the range now including Old Golden Hen, Old Hoppy Hen, Old Crafty Hen and Old Nutty Hen.
