Pom-Bear strengthens camping connection with sampling event support

Pom-Bear, the fun and friendly teddy shaped snack brand, has become official snack sponsor for The Camping and Caravanning Club’s audacious Guinness World Records Attempt during National Camping and Caravanning Week (June 2-8).The World Record attempt is for the most paper crowns worn at multiple locations!

Providing thousands of bags of snacks, plus competition prizes and gifts for youngsters who are involved in the activity, Pom-Bear hopes to add some fun and excitement to the extra special Jubilee-themed World Record attempt.

In addition, Pom-Bear will make a special guest appearance during a family fun day, which will take place at the Club’s Sandringham site on Monday, June 4.

Marketing manager, Steve Harger comments: “Pom-Bear is all about adventure, excitement and fun. We really want to encourage friends and families of all ages to spend time together and make the most of the great outdoors. With that in mind we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee than with a World Records Attempt with The Camping and Caravanning Club. We are really looking forward to wearing our paper crowns in record breaking style!”

Robert Louden, the Club’s director general, added: “We’re delighted to have Pom-Bear on board and fully behind us in our record attempt. Pom-Bear encapsulates what we as a Club are all about – good, family-friendly fun in the outdoor environment.

“We’d like to encourage all campers to take part in our Guinness World Records attempt on our Club and Camping in the Forest Sites! It’s a great event to bring people together and enjoy the great outdoors, particularly during National Camping and Caravanning Week and The Diamond Jubilee Central Weekend.”

More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the family fun day on June 4, with the record attempt taking place across the Club’s 110 award-winning campsites and 20 Camping in the Forest sites throughout the country. Club president David Bellamy will also be on site at Sandringham to offer a helping hand during the event.

Commented David Bellamy: “There’s no better feeling than waking up to hear birds singing, feeling the grass underneath your feet and smelling bacon sandwiches – carry on camping everyone and help us set a Guinness World Record! I’m looking forward to meeting fellow campers at Sandringham on June 4; I’ll have my paper crown at the ready!”

The Camping and Caravanning Club sponsorship marks the start of Pom-Bear’s 2012 annual promotion and marketing campaign, which will see the brand get involved in a full range of activities aligned with camping, adventure, fun and the great outdoors.
