Skiddle announces enhancements to its event booking Promotion Centre

Skiddle has announced three new updates to its promotion centre this month to support promoters through the final restrictions of the Covid pandemic.

What’s On guide, Skiddle, provides a free facility for event promoters across the UK to list their events online and sell tickets through its independent ticketing service. Each month, the free to use Promotion Centre is updated to support independent promoters by providing the marketing and technology support needed for them to grow

New features this month include…

Track and Trace Data Fields

After purchasing tickets for an event, customers will be required to provide the name, phone number, and email address for each member of their party when they download their tickets at any time before the event.

This is intended to support promoters with track and trace requirements. By law, each venue has to collect contact details from every attendee at their venue or face a hefty fine of up to £10,000 for repeat penalties. The new feature is being launched this week on both the Skiddle app and website, to save promoters time and hassle by obtaining customer information prior to the event thus saving queue time and additional staffing at the venue. At the moment Skiddle is the only ticketing company to offer this.

Advanced Event Status Features

As well as showing if events are cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled, the order history now explicitly states that an event is going ahead as they are updated by promoters. This new feature will save promoters time when it comes to answering questions about whether individual events are still going ahead as restrictions lift or timelines change.

New Customised Events Widget

While Skiddle ticket boxes can already be embedded on promoter websites, there is now the option for users to create an embeddable events widget to add to their website to maximise sales. With the new embeddable events widget promoters can:

  • Embed all upcoming events onto a website.
  • Keep a website up-to-date automatically as events change.
  • Direct 1-click through to purchase tickets.
  • Show most popular events, or by date order.
  • Style to suit a website’s colour palette.

The events widget is kept up-to-date automatically to show the latest status of any events, along with date, location and keyword filters so it’s very easy for website visitors to find the event they’re looking for. The widget is also fully optimised for desktop and mobile traffic.

Skiddle also recently took the proactive measure to block e-ticket downloads from its website until 24 hours before an event. The new tech reduces the chance that tickets will be copied, with fraudulent tickets then sold on to unsuspecting customers.

Skiddle currently works with over 35,000 UK and European promoters, at over 30,000 venues. It specialises in helping events through the critical growing phase by providing the marketing and technology support needed.
