Sledge and Kindred called in to aid British manufacturing

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has called in a team of experts, including brand experience agency Sledge and communications consultancy Kindred, to support a new initiative for British manufacturing.

The ‘Make it in Great Britain’ campaign, which has been developed by the agencies, aims to transform the image of modern manufacturing amongst the general public, investors and in particular young people, many of whom are missing out on career opportunities in the industry.

Kindred will deliver a national PR programme which will focus on stakeholder relations, consumer and B2B communications, with Sledge creating a six-week exhibition of the best of modern British manufacturing, which will take place at the Science Museum during Games time next summer.

The campaign will be led by client services director Laura Capell from Sledge and Kindred director Anastasia Scott.

Laura said: “We’re all very excited about this project; it’s a real opportunity to work collaboratively with agencies who can bring different expertise to the table and deliver something with tangible results that we feel will ultimately benefit our economy. We’re working with some great companies and finding out first hand just how cutting-edge manufacturing in this country can be, and we’re looking forward to demonstrating this to a wider national and international audience.”
