Terrazza Martini readies for starring role on F1 tour

Today Martini, one of the world’s most iconic Italian brands and the world’s leading vermouth and best-selling Italian sparkling wine, kicked off the European Formula One season by announcing plans to bring Martini style to racing. A series of curated events and creative collaborations centred around the Terrazza Martini, a rooftop bar concept, will put Martini at the heart of Grand Prix cities. In addition, model, TV host and race fan Bar Refaeli, will bring her own style and energy to the season as the Martini Race Ambassador.

Launching in Barcelona, followed by Milan, Sao Paolo and Sochi, each Terrazza Martini puts together a unique aperitif, featuring the best the city has to offer from the world of music, art, food, sport and celebrity. As the sun begins to set, guests will enjoy the finest cocktails, food and entertainment.

A number of creative collaborations, including one with Bar Refaeli, will help bring the Martini style to racing. An avid fan of the sport, Bar will act as Martini Race Ambassador, with plans to appear at the Spanish Grand Prix and Sochi Grand Prix. She’ll also feature in a creative project photographed by fellow model Cate Underwood that will be revealed later in the season. Cate has been commissioned as the brand’s official race photographer, capturing images of Martini style from city to city under the #martiniracing and #terrazzamartini.

Additionally, in the first collaboration of its kind, world renowned restaurant Bodega 1900 and chef Albert Adira have worked with Martini to create the ‘Ultimate Aperitivo’ inspired by racing. The brand has also commissioned a race inspired jewellery collection with Italian born designer Miss Bibi. The Martini collection features four pieces. A hand-painted cocktail ring featuring a helmet with moveable visor and the iconic Martini stripes is a stand- out piece.

“Originally built in Milan in 1958, Terrazza Martini welcomed the world’s most illustrious figures and showcased the brand’s lively interest in culture and style,” explained Sandy Mayo, Global Category Director, Martini. “We’re thrilled to bring the modern day version of Terrazza Martini to race cities, along with these amazing collaborations that help demonstrate the MARTINI style.”

Ahead of this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, Barcelona’s luxurious Marina Port Vell will be transformed as the Terrazza Martini takes pride of place by the seaside. With its gorgeous views, a host of VIP guests will join Williams Martini Racing driver Felipe Massa, deputy team principle and commercial director, Claire Williams and Martini Race Ambassador Bar Refaeli for an exclusive, kick-off party. Music will be provided by Primavera Sound and Albert Adria and his team from Bodega 1900 have created a bespoke aperitivo menu. From Friday 9 May to Sunday 11 May, Terrazza Martini will be open to the public to enjoy the sights, sounds and taste of the city.

“Martini has a deep heritage in racing. The energy and commitment on the track has always been complemented with the style and celebration off the track,” added Mayo.

The next Terrazza Martini event will take place in Milan ahead of the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
