Westfield to Launch New Santa’s Grotto featuring Cinematic Shrek Experience

Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City have announced a brand new festive experience brought to life by DreamWorks Animation, the global family entertainment brand. These two locations also have the distinction of being the first official sites committed to hosting a DreamWorks DreamPlace outside of the United States.

Adventure to Santa’s Grotto, A DreamWorks DreamPlace will take families on an immersive, cinematic adventure set in a 2,000 square-foot cottage that combines the latest technology of motion-based effects with magical storytelling.

The brand new to the UK Grotto concept combines the studio’s famous storytelling and humour and will take visitors through fun, interactive and personalised activities with iconic film characters Shrek and Donkey on their adventure to Santa. The entire experience is tailored and personalised, from the moment families reserve their visit from home to meeting Santa.

Adventure to Santa’s Grotto, A DreamWorks DreamPlace was imagined by a world-class team of DreamWorks Animation artists, storytellers and innovators and created by Parker 3D – industry leaders in interactive, video-integrated brand activations.

Westfield’s Christmas before Christmas offering, which includes an ice rink, Santa’s Grottos and a Christmas Lights Switch-On, helps to attract more than 12 million shoppers across the two London centres each year. The interactive Grotto experience is expected to be popular at both centres, as consumers continue to embrace the trend towards immersive and innovative new entertainment.
