whynot! supports Strongbow with Festival Tree

Agency whynot!, in partnership with Heineken, have created a unique 12 metre-high Strongbow Tree to be the central part of the cider brands’ activation for Parklife and Isle of Wight festivals.

Their challenge was to create an authentic and memorable activation that would have real cut through and position Strongbow as modern and relevant amongst drinkers at the festival. Parklife festival took place on 6th-7th June and the Isle of Wight festival takes place on 11th-14th June.

Their inspiration for the Strongbow Tree came from the need to create an exciting place where people can gather and enjoy the Strongbow experience. The idea of the Strongbow Tree took root and grew. The height means it has a huge impact and visible from every corner of the site, making it the central meeting place at the festival.

The top of the tree hosts an apple-shaped DJ booth with sets from Sandy Rivera, Izzy Trixx, Rea and many more exclusive sets. The area around the tree includes seating, a main bar, a photo booth and face painters. At the Isle of Wight festival they will also be a spectacular Laser show.

Stuart Knight, Senior Partner at whynot!, said: “We are really excited to have this opportunity to be delivering this activation for such a great brand at two quality events this summer.  The Strongbow Tree will be something truly unique creating real cut through and fantastic experiences.”

The tree will be the focal point where festival goers return to again and again. It’s a place where they can post and share memories that will last long after the festivals.

Scott Douglas, Account Director Festivals and Events at Heineken UK, said:”We have worked with the festival owners to create an immersive and memorable experience that consumers will want to be part of again and again.
