Drive helps Deezer bandwagon roll silently into towns

Event production specialists Drive Productions is bringing a unique silent gig experience for music streaming service Deezer. The gigs will travel to 4 different cities, with 4 different artists, over 4 days.

Next week Drive is taking a live music experience to hundreds of competition winners for Deezer. 300 fans in four cities across the UK will attend a money-can’t-buy event where everyone can see the band performing but only they can hear it.

Deezer, the premier music streaming service, is exclusively inviting 300 fans in each city to ‘get on the bandwagon’ and attend the ‘silent’ concert, which will feature one of four amazing bands – Little Boots, Dog is Dead, The Ramona Flowers and Fridge Magnets.

Drive is taking the experience to four of the UK’s major cities; Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London to celebrate the launch of Deezer’s free service in the UK – where users can enjoy 12 months of unlimited music for free on their computer. The exclusive gigs will feature each band performing a ‘silent’ concert, the shows will be performed from inside a clear acrylic box on wheels, with fans able to see the band but not hear them.

A silent disco with a twist – anyone who is invited to attend a Bandwagon gig or wins a ticket will be given a special pair of Deezer headphones and will be able to hear the performance.

Drive Productions partnered with Deezer to bring a new style of touring gigs to the UK. Deezer’s philosophy has always been about helping artists to connect with more fans, and fans to discover new music easily, in fun and engaging ways, which is at the heart of the Deezer Bandwagon tour.

Mark Foster MD of Deezer UK and Ireland said: “The Deezer Bandwagon is a natural development of Deezer’s editorial approach and a fantastic celebration of our free, ad-supported service. The Deezer Bandwagon tour is about bringing digital music to a mainstream audience and driving discovery through innovative technology with a fun and engaging live experience.”

Imogen Hammond, creative director of Drive comments: “The Deezer Bandwagon experience creates an exclusive conduit between the band and its audience, engaging Deezer fans to music in an unparalleled way. Through a combination of lateral thinking, conceptual design and technical expertise we will deliver a unique live music experience which will live on long beyond the event.”
