Momentum Instore’s major refit for DIY store in Banbury

Momentum Instore, the provider of retail marketing solutions, has completed a refit of B&Q’s Banbury store, introducing new innovations and concepts that will enhance the shopping experience.

B&Q is trialling a new concept that moves away from its traditional heavy duty store format focused on the building trade audience and appointed Momentum Instore to implement the required changes.

The store has been redesigned with lower lightweight gondolas being introduced in the middle of each department to create a shop within a shop. The displays have been made more impactful to compliment the effect that B&Q wants to achieve and new lighting and flooring has been introduced. Decorative departments have also been repositioned in a more strategic location.

The project took seven weeks to complete and involved 1159 shifts across the different Momentum Instore teams involved. The completed store is representative of the format that B&Q wishes to adopt across its estate in the future.

A spokesperson from B&Q, said: “Understanding and meeting the needs of our customers is of paramount importance to us, and this new store format will enable us to do just that. Having worked closely with Momentum Instore’s team on numerous projects in the past we were confident that they had the experience, expertise and understanding of our business that would help us to achieve all of our objectives for this refit.”
