Imagination creates Canon experience at photokina

From  September 16th to the 21st, Global creative business Imagination  created a customer experience for Canon Europe at photokina 2014, in Cologne .

Upon registering, visitors were given a Canon Live Pass (an RFID-enabled card) allowing them to interact with over 180 touchpoints, collect downloadable personal souvenirs and localised product information from their time at the show. RFID and other connected technology, such as cloud,  ensured content was accessible during the show and online, post event, to maximise reachability and sharability.

The stand was a fully connected platform supporting Canon technologies where much anticipated new products and innovations were represented through different activations.

Visitors were encouraged to take  the perfect shot in a ‘Speed Challenge’ and were  able to see objects in the ‘Shoot in the Dark’ activation using lens technology.

The ‘Mirror House’ was aimed  at a younger audience using Canon’s compact cameras whilst the ‘Kit Bag Configurator’ gave photographers the opportunity to create their ideal bag – all saved to the visitors personal souvenir site for future reference.

Visitors to the stand were also encouraged to be part of the new campaign by featuring in their own ad with the ‘Gladiator Face’ activation.

Canon added a personal touch with product experts and staff on hand to assist and inform visitors. Online visitors were able to enjoy the experience through the virtual 360 tour and Canon Live TV covering it on their Youtube channel.

It is the third consecutive time Imagination has worked with Canon Europe at photokina to engage with industry, trade, professionals and consumers with a passion for photography. The imaging business has experienced considerable change in recent years with technology and the use of camera phones have been at the forefront of this change. Canon has embraced this shift by engaging photokina visitors through a narrative-driven virtual and digital experience.

A Canon spokesman said: ‘The Canon stand is the most interactive we’ve ever created for photokina. It’s a great way to explore and experience what’s new in our world. The environment we’ve created has been designed to showcase how we help people to get the most from the latest imaging technologies and it’s all built around practical imaging contexts that photographers encounter in the real world.’
