Kinetic Aviator live-streams New Suez Canal opening across London and New York

The opening of the New Suez Canal will today be live-streamed by two of the world’s major cities to mark the historic expansion of one of the planet’s busiest shipping lanes in an out-of-home (OOH) campaign devised by Kinetic and Mindshare.

Kinetic Aviator, the airport and international division of Kinetic Worldwide, the global leader in planning and buying OOH media, will live-stream the historic event across digital screens in London’s Piccadilly Circus and New York’s Times Square. The opening will be screened today at these iconic locations to build excitement and communicate the expansion of the canal on a global scale.

The live-streaming event, planned in conjunction with global media agency network Mindshare, is part of a two-week outdoor campaign which saw sites in London, New York, Paris and Moscow booked by Kinetic to drive awareness and buzz surrounding the New Suez Canal.

The campaign has linked these global economic hubs to drive awareness for the expansion, as well as developing long-term interest in the potential opportunities this new canal will bring to the rest of the world. The existing Suez Canal, constructed by Egypt as the world’s first man-made cross-country canal, is the shortest link between the east and west and an important international transport link. This second monumental expansion will impact trade and improve transport for countries around the world.
