Microsoft’s outsourced sales force transferred to McCurrach Technology

Due to changes in the scale and nature of its field marketing activities over the next three years, Microsoft Ltd has appointed McCurrach Technology (a subsidiary of McCurrach Group), to be the company’s new UK field marketing/sales supplier from July 2012 onwards.

McCurrach Technology’s remit will cover delivery of a world-class Field Sales service to Microsoft and the launching of a new Microsoft Retail Academy as well as management of the Microsoft Retail Technology Sales Forces.

Sales forces will be tasked to represent Xbox 360, Windows/Office products and Windows Phone in the UK, whilst a specific team will focus on Microsoft sales at DSGi stores including Dixons, Currys and PC World.

A total team of 50+ Microsoft representatives have been transferred to McCurrach Technology’s management following a TUPE process.

‘Microsoft was impressed by the innovative and professional approach McCurrach Technology took in responding to our brief,’ comments Jonathan Grimes, head of Microsoft Ltd’s Retail Sales and Marketing Division. ‘We felt that the best chance of creating a leading Retail Academy – one which can further enhance the skills, performance and career prospects of our retail sales team – lay in forging this new partnership. Hence we’re delighted to be working with McCurrach, both on this project and in the hope that this type of association can be a forerunner of similar partnerships we may explore across the UK technology sector.’

Adds McCurrach Group’s CEO, Angus Maciver: ‘McCurrach is delighted to be working with Microsoft to create the leading Retail Sales Academy in the UK industry.’
