Rakuten brand premieres in UK with Hometown London and Kru Live

Rakauten, a brand stabled with Viber, Wuaki TV and Kobo is launching in the UK.  Rakuten is a Japanese online retailer and direct competitor to Amazon and the fast growing Chinese business Alibaba.

Kru Live is implementing and staffed a programme of free open air cinema screenings on behalf of agency Hometown London to launch the brand in the UK and raise awareness of all of these brands. The primary focus is on the Rakuten brand and driving traffic to their website to boost sales in the lead up to Christmas.

The tour is covering London (Southbank) this weekend, and Cardiff, Glasgow and Manchester over the next four weekends.

It kicks off with a Halloween screening of Malificent which will be screened along with other surprises and audience engagements.

Stacey Solomon is appearing in London on Saturday night and will be singing a track from Frozen – the film being shown that night.

There are other activities going on throughout the weekend including an interactive gaming platform where visitors can choose from multiple games built bespoke for this activation and win a huge range of great prizes – including a trip to Japan.
