TransferWise awakens commuters to hidden fees

London commuters were taken by surprise this morning as pyjama clad sleepers were tucked up in beds outside the Royal Exchange.

Alarm clocks rang throughout the city as the sleepers called on consumers to wake up to hidden fees in foreign exchange. The scene was  created by House of Experience and staged by TransferWise-the international money transfer platform – calling for greater transparency in foreign exchange.

TransferWise is the international money transfer platform based on peer-to peer technology. Launched in 2011, it is one of the UK’s most successful fintech startups having raised $91m in funding from investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Sir Richard Branson, Peter Thiel and Max Levchin, the co-founders of PayPal.

House of Experience was appointed TransferWise’s official retained agency last month after a string of successful PR campaigns.
