Field sales experts McCurrach have become News UK’s new sales and support service across its 54,000 strong UK retail estate.
News UK own the UK’s biggest selling print newspaper in The Sun, the fastest moving FMCG brand in the market. News UK also publishes The Times and The Sunday Times.
As well as working with The Sun and The Times, McCurrach will also be focussing on developing sales and visibility of The TLS, News UK’s literary magazine, plus supporting the growth of their React proposition. React enables FMCG brands to secure retail activation at no additional cost when they buy into News UK’s extensive range of media assets.
McCurrach’s winning proposition, combined with their experience, reputation and relationships in the UK FMCG retail space, in addition to their span of expertise in field sales, brand activation and marketing reach are what secured them the partnership with News UK.
The new field team are currently in their induction phase and the official launch is planned for October 10 2018.
News UK’s director of retail sales, Neil Spencer said “McCurrach were the obvious choice because of their retail expertise, their ability to support the team to develop the business in line with our strategy for both The Sun and The Times and their capability to work with us to drive our React offering.”
As part of the service McCurrach will undertake a number of key initiatives including introducing and delivering a ‘News Matters’ program, designed to help retailers drive sales, promoting The Sun’s leading campaigns including the 700,000 strong Sun Savers scheme, growing The Times’ record subscriptions base even further, managing lead generation for React and working with News UK as they evolve their repertoire of propositions to meet the needs of today’s increasingly digitally engaged retailer & shopper.
